What We Have Raised

PORTHPEAN PfS – A THIRD CENTRE FOR CORNWALL!
Nearly £40,000 was raised through the generous sponsorship of Pete Goss’s Trimaran in the Shetland Round Britain and Ireland race in June 2006. This money was used to equip the new Porthpean PfS Centre with a state-of-the-art ICT suite and interactive learning resources. This centre, the third PfS centre in Cornwall, opened in November 2006. It now works with over 50 young people each term.

To date, £3,000 from the charity has been allocated to support this development work. The charity has also managed to secure £3,000 from Individual Needs to support the Pirates Double Club at Mounts Bay School.

The charity has given a grant of £6,000 (of which £4,000 was a LA contribution) to support a second school, Budehaven - who have been waiting most patiently in the wings for many years - to work towards the application and process for Associate Centre status. Their current OOHL programme is based very closely on the Penryn College PFS model.
